What Kind of Watch does Stephen Curry Wear

What Kind of Watch Does Stephen Curry Wear?

Stephen Curry, guard for the Golden State Warriors NBA team and two time league MVP,  is actually a bit of a watch collector.

The notoriously under-sized boy from Charlotte sprung out of his father’s (Dell Curry) footprints during the 2012-13 season with a record 272 three pointers made during the regular season. Steph has since shattered this record on several occasions and led the Warriors to NBA glory during the 2015, 2017 and 2018 seasons. He is a phenomenal talent that many now regard as the best shooter in NBA history. However, it wasn’t always this way, as the following short documentary shows his long term struggle to overcome his small stature. Give it a watch, it’s a great story of perseverance.

Steph Curry wears multiple watch brands ranging from high end Rolexes, to the more affordable Movado Museum Classic. With a $35 million salary (2018 Golden State), Steph can clearly afford to wear exclusively super high-end watches if he was so inclined, but we like that the family man mixes up his flashy watches with some simple, elegant and attainable timepieces.

Steph Curry’s Rolexes

Stephen has been spotted wearing various Rolexes. For the big occasions, he appears to prefer his impressive Rolex Deepsea diver. He wore this whilst accepting his MVP trophy in 2016 and when he met President Obama in 2015 through his charity efforts on fighting malaria. His Deepsea is a large 44mm steel oyster model featuring self winding calibre 3135 movement, patented scratch resistance Cerachrom unidirectional bezel with 60 min graduations, and a 70 hour power reserve. Make no mistake, this is a serious dive watch, but obviously also carries the elegance for occasions such as meeting the US President.

Steph also owns a 40mm Everose Day-Date President he’s previously sported to some games.

Steph Curry’s Movado Museum Classic

One of Steph’s more attainable, yet elegant timepieces is his Movado Museum Classic that he’s worn to post-game press conferences.

Stephen Curry Movado Museum Classic with Daughter

We find that Steph wearing a watch with a family friendly budget to a press conference where his daughter, Riley, stole the show to be quite fitting. The classy, yet relaxed Movado with a simple numberless blackface is dressed up with the goldtone hands and the signature dot at 12 o’clock. This watch suits Stephen Curry’s image perfectly.

We couldn’t let this opportunity slip to show you the video of Riley taking control of yet another press conference with her effortless charm:

You can grab yourself a Movado Museum Classic from Amazon below. Whilst we can’t guarantee it will help you become the next MVP, you can at least look the part.

What Kind of Watch does Warren Buffett Wear

What Kind of Watch Does Warren Buffett Wear?

Warren Buffett, currently worth $90B and 3rd on Forbes rich list behind Jezz Bezos and friend Bill Gates, made his fortune by being an incredibly astute investor in various companies. Known for his frugal and practical nature despite his immense wealth, we’re naturally interested in type of watch the ‘Oracle from Omaha’ chooses to wear.

Warren Buffet wears a Gold Rolex Day Date

Known for buying hail damaged cars and driving them until they are “embarrassing”, and living in the same modest house he purchased in 1958 for $31,500 – partly because it’s only a 5 minute drive from his office. You’d almost expect Warren to be wearing a hand-me-down Casio.  Well, not quite. He’s actually very proud of his 18K gold Rolex Day Date and is often seen wearing, and even talking about it. Not in a bragging way, but in a way that backs up his investment principles. This is best illustrated by his quote: “Why not invest your assets in the companies you really like? As Mae West said, ‘Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.” Word has it that he tried to purchase the Rolex company from the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation. A clear indicator in that he doesn’t just love his watch, but sees significant value in the Rolex brand.

Whether we’re talking about socks or stocks, I like buying quality merchandise when it is marked down.

The Rolex Day Date in 18K Gold

Certainly not exactly a watch for the masses with a current price tag of $29,395.00, the 18K Rolex Day Date is not overly flashy either. Known for its classic, timeless elegance, the Rolex Day Date is perhaps the most instantly recognizable watch in the world.

The most popular size of the Rolex Day Date is the 36mm, but you can certainly go bigger with a 40mm models. As the name suggests, the Day Date features the full day name on the dial, along with the date at 3 o’clock. Today, the movement is controlled by Rolex’s Calibre 3255, with self-winding mechanical movement offering superb precision, power reserve and resistance to shocks and magnetism.

Given Warren’s appetite for a good deal, perhaps today he’d be looking for a pre-owned watch like this one which retails for Check on Amazon, significantly less than the retail price of a new Rolex.

What Kind of Watch Does Conor McGregor Wear?

Conor McGregor is an Irish-born professional mixed martial artist who is well known for fighting in the UFC.  McGregor is one of only two people in UFC history to win a contest at both the featherweight and welterweight levels. McGregor is a very impressive individual who has carved out a great deal of success for himself at such a young age. He is also quite well known for his extensive watch collection, which is evident by a quick peruse of his Instagram account (@thenotoriousmma)

1. Rolex Sky Dweller

One of the watches he can be seen frequently wearing is the Rolex Sky Dweller. The Sky Dweller is a beautiful watch put out by Rolex featuring their Oyster Perpetual movement. One of the key selling points of the watch is it’s simplicity. It features several complications, including a date display and a monthly calendar, and has several functions including 24 hour time and a second time zone setting – functions which can by found by adjusting the bezel. However, as beautiful as the Sky Dweller is, it is a $40,000 watch. This puts the watch out of the price range of the average person. Luckily there are plenty of great alternatives!

If you’re looking for a watch that achieves the look and feel of the Sky Dweller without the enormous price tag, then we recommend the Citizen Eco Drive Stainless. The watch by Citizen is a Stainless Steel case with a mineral composite crystal and Japanese Quartz movement. While it is a battery powered watch, the battery should last for quite a while and very easily changed.

The best part about the citizen? It comes in at a very reasonable $89.99, making it an affordable alternative to the Sky Dweller. And while there definitely is a notable difference between the two watches, if you’re looking for a quality and affordable watch that captures the feel of the Sky Dweller, this Citizen Eco-Drive won’t let you down.

2. Rolex Day Date

Also among Conor’s impressive collection is his super suave Ice Blue Platinum Rolex Day-Date that he wore in the lead-up to his fight with Mayweather. The platinum version of the quintessential Rolex Day-Date packs a large punch (pun intended… sorry) in both performance and aesthetics. Combining classic features of the Rolex Day-Date Oyster collection such as 100m water resistance (perfect to use as a dive watch), robust perpetual movement of the Rolex Calibre 3255 (automatic), full day of the week displayed at 12 (available in 26 languages!) and a 26 hour power reserve. The platinum version features an elegant ice blue face, and is considerably heavier than the other metal versions of the Rolex Day-Date.

Not getting $70 Million for a fight like McGregor and therefore not necessarily prepared to invest in a Rolex? Of course, there are alternatives. Especially given that Rolex is the most copied watch brand on the planet. A great alternative to the Rolex Day-Date is the Orient “President” Classic. This homage to the Rolex Day-Date features a 36mm case, full day of the week at 12, date magnifier, sapphire crystal and indices. Controlled by a very reliable in house automatic movement with two way winding clutch. Don’t be fooled, this is not a cheap Rolex knock-off, but a quality AND affordable watch in its own right.

Conor simply has too many other watches to mention without this turning into a massive article. So, I’ve just included some of his own images and videos from Insta below.

What type of watch does tony soprano wear

What kind of watch did Tony Soprano wear?

Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) wore a Rolex Day-Date President in The Sopranos.

The Sopranos was an HBO hit series and was one of the first successful TV shows to get the audience to cheer on a villain as the main character. Without James Gandolfini’s amazing and award-winning work as Tony Soprano, we would never get to see amazing and complex characters in shows like Deadwood or Breaking Bad. I would even say that the show paved the way for lesser, but still popular successors, like Dexter Morgan.

Of course, running a top mafia family can be tough work, and you need a watch that is both durable and stylish. Something that is function as both a timepiece and a status symbol. Soprano had that in the $29,000.00 Rolex Day-Date President.

The Day-Date President is an 18 karat gold watch (band and casing) with an anti-reflective sapphire face over an analog display. The watch is automatic and self winding, never requiring batteries, and is rated to be waterproof at 100m (330 feet).

The watch carries a high price tag for several reasons. The sapphire crystal is quite an expensive way to face a watch, not to mention the fact that every visible surface of this particular watch is made from 18 karat gold. The Day-Date President features both the day and the date displayed at the 12 o’clock and 3 o’clock positions, respectively.

This is an exquisitely crafted and beautiful timepiece and one that’s well worth having in your collection – if you can afford it.
